Brookwells Review: Britpart Lynx Eye (DA6282) LED Headlights
We fitted a pair of Britpart Lynx Eye (DA6282) LED headlights to our Defender the other day and the results are no less than spectacular as I think the images below prove:
They are simplicity themselves to fit as they are a direct replacement for the original 7” candle powered lights fitted to the Defender. They plug straight into the original wiring harness so no ballast resistors, connectors or wiring to worry about at all. I do not profess to be a mechanic or auto electrician and managed to fit them myself in under half an hour in the rain so they really can be fitted by anybody anywhere with no more than a Philips screwdriver!
I was initially worried that they might be so bright that people would be flashing at me all the time because I was blinding them, however, I have had them fitted for almost a week now mostly using narrow country lanes and “B” roads with nobody flashing their lights at me at all so the beam pattern is obviously set up correctly as per the original headlights and they are fully road legal, E marked and MOT tester friendly.
They are built from extremely tough materials with polycarbonate lenses and die-cast aluminium housings, for all you techies out there they give out 2800 lumens on dipped beam and 4450 lumens on high beam and are built up from 8pcs CREE(XML-10W) LEDs.
If I could recommend one product for your Defender then these would be it, I admit that there is a large initial outlay but if you want to see where you are going this winter I really don’t think these can be beaten.
