Land Rover increases Range Rover Sport product offering

Following on the success of the Range Rover Sport Supercharged, Land Rover has extended the models product offering by launching a Naturally Aspirated engine variant that comes with a 4.4 litre V8 engine that delivers 300 bhp and accelerates from 0-60 km/h in just 8.2 seconds.

Positioned as a luxury Sports Tourer, the Range Rover Sport model is Land Rovers best-performing and best-handling vehicle ever built. Since its launch just 18 months ago, it has won over 15 International awards and sold 1865 units in the Middle East Region since May 2005.

Commenting on the additional model, Andy Gawthorpe, Managing Director, Land Rover Middle East said: “Range Rover Sport is a superb vehicle that offers the excitement of a performance car but with the versatility and breath of capability of a Land Rover. The new engine variant will be in addition to the current Range Rover Sport Supercharged model that’s powered by a 4.2 litre supercharged V8 engine delivering 390 bhp and accelerates from 0-60km/h in 7.2 seconds. The new Range Rover Naturally Aspirated model is available at Land Rover dealers across the Middle East. The model line up has a price range of $66,750 to $84,500. Prices vary by market depending on options selected and local duties.

Land Rover sales for 2005 were the best in the company’s history on a global and Middle East level. The results were driven by the company’s strong product line-up, which includes a premium portfolio of new models that include five distinct products: The Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, LR3, Freelander and the Defender. Land Rover is predicting a 40 per cent increase in Middle East sales for 2006.
